Acer Chromebook Sales Increase Significantly in 2017
Although the consumer interest is still small, Acer Chromebook claimed to experience aggressive growth. This year, the growth of Acer laptop with Chrome operating system made by Google was revealed to reach double digits in 2017.
Unfortunately, the nominal growth is not disclosed directly by the President Director of Acer Indonesia Herbet Ang. It just says, Acer Chromebook has a large market share.
According to Gartner data in March 2017, Acer is still ranked the world's top Chromebook sales with 28 percent share. The year-on-year increase in Chromebook sales also reached 33 percent worldwide.
He claims Acer Chromebook is currently focusing more in the corporate segment, especially education. "Because they already have the infrastructure and apps that are okay and the Chromebooks fit in. If in corporate, the average is all there and the user engagement is faster, but again, this is a wider corporation and the education segment is the main focus."
